What 2021 Couples Should Know

With COVID-19, much attention in the wedding world has been focused on the 2020 couples forced to reschedule their day. It has wreaked complete havoc on the wedding industry for both couples and vendors. With many 2020 couples rescheduling into 2021, what does that mean for more recently engaged couples who were planning for a 2021 wedding day? There’s definitely a few things to consider as you move forward with planning your day.

Consider a day besides Saturday

With vendors squeezing so many weddings from 2020 into the 2021 season, Saturday dates may be hard to come by. Being flexible on your day of the week when you first begin planning will likely leave you with more options for your first choice vendors and venue. A Thursday evening wedding or a Sunday brunch wedding could both be solid considerations.

Be flexible on season

Much like Saturday being a potentially tough find- being flexible on season or month will be super helpful to your planning. The most popular month for weddings is typically October with September and November not far behind. In the spring May and June are particularly popular. Considering a winter month such as January or February will leave you with more options for vendors AND a possibility of a Saturday ceebration.

Book EARLY

With many 2020 couples rescheduling their day, it’s obvious that you need to book vendors you have your heart set on early. If you’re obsessed with a certain venue or photographer, contact them NOW and plan to pay your deposit ASAP. As I have said in previous posts, do not book anything until you have secured your venue. Without a venue, you do not have a date.

Think outside the box with your venue

Get creative with the vision for your day. Consider a smaller venue for a more intimate affair. Consider a ceremony space separate from your reception. Due to COVID-19 micro weddings became popular and and unique venues have emerged because of it. Hiring a wedding planner to assist with creativity execution is a great option too! ;)

In conslusion- if you are a 2021 bride or groom, know that this is a trying time for all of us. Be open minded and patient with vendors. We are in this together. I and every vendor I know, wants to help couples make their dream day a reality.
