Real SCWE Wedding- Corinne and Andrew

When Corinne and Andrew first contacted us about planning services, their main request for their day was that it was very Richmond. After moving for school and work to California, they wanted a day that embodied their love of their home city and for each other.

The day began with Corinne and her wedding party (including her two brothers as bridesmen) getting ready at her childhood home. Andrew and his groomsmen prepped at the Delta Hotel downtown. Corinne had a first look with her dad in the front yard of her parents home.

Corinne and Andrew’s ceremony took place at another special spot- Corinne’s childhood church where she attended preschool and where she and Andrew spent holidays and other family events while dating.

Their cocktail hour and reception took place at The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Upon entering the reception space, guests were greeted by the couple’s well known dog, Toby, as an ice sculpture. Their three legged dog being part of their day was a non-negotiable item. The only way they envisioned having him was as an ice sculpture.

In place of a traditional wedding cake or cutting cake, Andrew’s Ukranian heritage was represented with a traditional Ukranian wedding bread, Korovai. Alongside the wedding bread was the most delicious assortment of cupcakes from Frostings Bakery.

The table numbers all incorporated various places Corinne and Andrew had travelled to or visited. This was an adorable way to incorporate their relationship into decor elements.

At the end of the night, there was a much loved late night snack of taquitos- a request from Corinne. After the night ended, Toby the ice sculpture went to the hotel where we are sure the party continued. Corinne and Andrew’s day was full of RVA love and we absolutely loved being part of it.
